Maybe they just think you're Radagast popping up out of nowhere to talk about your birds. Lean into that!

I'm so happy we can do video here!

Yeah, the FTC isn't allowed to yet. They're working on it, though.

I say this with love as a former Ohioan, I promise haha

In double fairness to you, Buckeyes fans often make the fandom their whole personality.

Beat me to it. Damn fine song.

That really is all it is, I think. It sucks because a lot of creators will simply be cut off for something entirely out of their control.

Absolutely continue the good climate news (fairly sure you would anyway, but wanted to call it out).

I would also love tips on things to do at home to reduce or reverse our own impact on the climate.

You feeling okay, Hank?

This is making me think people don't actually know what totalitarianism is.

Or they could just be disingenuous arguments for the sake of a political agenda, I guess.

Famously, authoritarianism is defeated by a populace - not "experts".

Besides, one does not need to be an expert to have thoughts on a subject.

If anything, that resulted in a lot of excitement to dig up other meteorites to see what they had to tell us. /end

Are you referring to the 1996 story? If so, I wouldn't say that was damaging at all. Some scientists got overly excited and skipped some important steps, but still put the data out for other scientists to verify and disprove the "life on Mars" hypothesis. /cont

What incidents of sensationalism and showboating are you referring to, here?

I'm a big fan of space news *coughEuropacough*

Also photos are always nice, I doubt I'll ever see every space photo even if I tried.

Thirded!

Light pollution really is the worst.

And a half-decent one at that!

That third picture, of NGC 602, is by far my favorite. The way you can see the layers and depth of the nebula is just so freakin cool.

Yes, this! Manure is in *everything*. One of the good things USDA-organic crop certification actually does is dictate that crops be kept separate from substances like manure. Otherwise, you get things like e-coli in lettuce caused by manure seeping into the water used to irrigate the plants.

Interestingly, the scientist looking into it, Alexander Marshak, is mentioned as trying to see if the light being reflected has a measurable impact on how much reaches Earth. I haven't been able to locate a follow up to see what they found.

It appears to be ice in the atmosphere. Found a NASA article about them, if you're interested: earthobservatory.nasa.gov/images/90269...
An Icy Trick of the Light
