You are very generous. Would it not be for them, with their producers, to evolve the program from within? Or is that beyond either their remit or capabilities?

I recall a particular “interview” by Amon Rajan re the channel migrants with an expert in the the matter. He steered it in a peculiar direction using and reusing particular phrases reinforcing the idea of illegality, highlighting false drivers and exaggerating numbers. Shocking, esp from him.

By that time Le Pen had already been party to torturing Algerians. Remarkable photo at a tumultuous time in France’s modern history.

it's crazy that 500 years ago, you would see the ruler of your country maybe once in your life and hear whispers that they're the Sun God, but now with social media, you get to see on a daily basis that they're the most unhinged, idiotic, and unhappy person you know

What I can’t fathom with Starmer is why he will capitulate on things which might cost him a few votes, but won’t move his red lines on things that could potentially secure him the next election.

Go do it but give up after 15 minutes, go sit on a terrace and watch everyone else get on with it.

Neuilly-sur-Seine is one hell of an incestuous village.

Good morning! This picture came up on my Bluesky feed this morning and is labelled «Crouching Man». The original title is «Homme qui s'accroupit» and visually the painting agrees. Have you any other egregious examples of art having been a bit lost in translation? bsky.app/profile/pabl...

I unfortunately kept vaguely abreast of A Pritchard-Evans, his turn away from relative objective reality (tbh he was never great, having missed everything leading up to the gfc to the point you cannot find his pre-gfc articles anywhere) to utter convoluted bullshit to support the Leave position.
