Ph.D peptide development chemist with a synthesis job. Hoping to one day grow up to be a process chemist.
I remember hearing about hydrogen in beer to help with karaoke, but I was never sure how true it was.

It's why my dad always said he wouldn't watch it. He knew the ending.

It's the mittens, which you were definitely wearing in order to stay warm, as the safety department would recommend.

It was basically a mercury bubbler on a pivot, if you calibrated it right you could control the relative vacuum between the pump and whatever you were pumping on. It was great for vacuum distillations where you wanted say, 5 Torr instead of full vacuum. pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1...

I believe it is a backup water purification system at some smaller water treatment plants, but definitely not for any sort of controlled reaction in that case.

I think that's just Chuck TIngle. Give him a studio and a couple billion.

It's just me and the cat, so I use a photo on the phone but a paper list seems way smarter.

I go with it doesn't have a soul until you name it, so until then its just a ship. Historic names get passed down, so they transfer.

Its the Enterprise. Same ship, different parts. At least thats how i see it, the soul is the same so its still the same ship.

Gotta check the jet stream. Has more impact than you think.

Yeah, tree law is nuts. Someone who can afford to send lawyers after them forever would be most likely to get results. If they wont, at least get a certified tree person to say its unsafe and send notice through a lawyer. At least then you'll be able to recover damages if the worst happens.Good luck

Can the city or insurance help? They will ignore you, but their lawyers will be able to get we t a response.

Spent a couple of days figuring out which synthesis step an old sample had been left at. The last step used an expensive reagent. Split the sample in half and finished the synthesis, obtained enough for the project and the rest was stored with an improper label, and we had to find out the hard way.

Is this the American remake of "Attack the Block"?

Supreme Court said as long as it's official business, it's not illegal. Fixing the White House would count, they wouldn't even need a license to drive a wrecker.

That seems more reasonable, depending on the molecule. Gotta build in some time for scheduling and issues that may arise in synthesis. If you were aiming for full development for GMP, a month is going to be just the paperwork a lot of the time.

I'm at a CDMO, and a lot depends on scale and if you want large scale someday. Initial testing/academic lab and only needs 50 or 100 mg? If it's not a crazy natural product it shouldn't take super long, that's just scheduling/available labor. Full scale production prep work takes a lot longer.

If there was ever a perfectly good reason to have a drawer full of just random stuff that you're not sure what its for or what it does or just for sauce packets, this is it. You've validated it's exisistence.
