So I have worked at IT help desk for a little over four years. I then burned out two years ago and now looking to get back into the field. It also means I am starting all over again. Join me on my journey on getting back into the field as I share my knowledge and experiences.

Study Tip: One thing I have learned to do is digitize my flash cards. I have created files and folders and placed them on my phone. I go over them everyday. Sometimes I will do it while listening to music. This is partly how I learn and retain knowledge.

Education Tip: Whether you are trying to obtain IT certs or gain knowledge in general, always have your own curriculum for studying. This is a snap shot of my own personal flash cards. I go over them almost every day and continue to add more and more to the deck.

Lifehack: I am a firm believer in having a daily routine and a to-do list. I literally put it all on my phone's calendar. It's also kind of fun checking the task off when its done. Here is to staying organized. Cheers! ☕️

Tech Tip: One of the brush ways I have found to dust off or clean a keyboard is to use an unused paint brush. You can buy them super cheap. They are a good way to keep the dust/dirt out.

For all of you still with Windows 10 and without security protection: Micorsoft still provides the Extended Security Updates (ESU) until October 2026. Best of all, its free for United States Users. However, you need to upgrade to Windows ASAP as Win 10 will not forever remain protected.

Just bought the new Superman 2025 movie for $9.99 on Apple. Either the movie sucks or Apple is doing a holiday discount on movies.

Tech Tip: On my Samsung Galaxy phone, I downloaded this Samsung Music app off Google Play Store and use it to play the audio files from my phone's SD card. Bonus: there are no ads and it is completely free.

Tech Tip: On my Samsung phone, I downloaded this app from Google Play Store & use it to play all of my videos from my sd card. Works better than my phone's video player and is more up to date. Not to mention ad-free.

When you go on vacation, don't post photos or videos while away from home. If criminals know you are gone, they could break into your house. Just do a photo dump of your trip when you get back.

Granted that the tech industry is predominately liberal. Still it surprises me how many folks have stopped posting on X and moved to Bluesky. Created a Bluesky account to continue following some of them. No sense letting politics get in the way of getting good tech insights.

Looking back on the Crowd Stike incident last year that took a good chunk of the internet down for a time. One thing that taught me is to ALWAYS have an offline setup as well as online. I still have access to my music, photos, documents, etc if the internet goes down again.
