One Battle After Another has been getting a lot of “best movie of the decade” talk, and I’m inclined to agree but I’m curious — what’s the competition?

Ahh, now I'm gonna have to go and play the Trails games :-D Not a franchise I'm familiar with, but this is definitely an interesting take (which also aligns with the theme of the library in the community, one of the aspects we discuss in the paper!)
danielvella.bsky.social
We focused mostly on libraries represented as places or concepts in games, but this is an interesting angle and, from the sound of it, a very relevant case study! Don't know about the Trails games, could you tell me more?

Just some of the game libraries mentioned in the article: Fire Emblem: Three Houses // Elden Ring // Mutazione // Alone in the Dark

Fateforge: Chronicles of Kaan is awarded Adventure Game of the Year at the Polish Board Game of the Year awards! It's beyond amazing to see Fateforge: Chronicles of Kaan continue to get recognition, especially right as we've wrapped up work on the second expansion.

At #historyofgames2025, where the focus is the 1990s! My own 90s in gaming involved playing NES game knockoffs on my cousin's Micro Genius, getting my first PC, and, as a 13-year-old, buying pirated PC games from a police officer running a side business from the trunk of a squad car. Ah, nostalgia.

Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies.

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!

I’m in the process of dropping US tech services. Here’s how I did it, and options you should consider.
