Yes. Run slow. I train for 5k- 10k- half marathons- to be competitive. A majority of my runs are where I can hold a conversation while running. This is a “recovery” pace and it will eventually improve. I used to be a “run hard every day” but that’s actually bad.

Same for running. Investing in proper gear was a game changer for me and I can assure you very few people dislike cold weather more than I do. (Arizona’s native).

Trust your training process. Hard work was already put in. I find planning on the logistics outside of training helps. (Transportation , what I’m wearing, diet/hydration leading up to race day ect) maybe a running podcast. Good luck.
