I did…and I will not again unless something changes very soon.

Sound advice that…I cannot see how it could go wrong 😁

I voted for them…🙂

Hey, I’ll be happily proved wrong. And if in four years or less that happens,I’ll willing dig this thread out and admit it to you.
Right now I don’t see it though.

Maybe I’ve genuinely missed it, but where have the EU or Norway said this? That aside, the UK is isolated, with a currently poor trading relationship with our closest neighbours, how does that get fixed without concessions on our part. I don’t think we are exceptional, quite the opposite.
December 5, 2024 at 8:49 PM
Yearn for Johnsonian boosterism 😁…now you are just being deliberately provocative!
December 5, 2024 at 8:42 PM
I won’t argue on the Tory mess…on that at least I think we can probably agree.
December 5, 2024 at 8:34 PM
I agree to an extent, but your facts are based on the government saying that they won’t go for a Swiss or Norway style deal, not that they can’t. Likewise with FoM…it’s a case of they won’t rather than they can’t! So again, it comes down to political will, or lack thereof.
December 5, 2024 at 8:32 PM
Forget a return to the EU or FoM, or whatever! What else are Labour offering?
What’s the vision we are supposed to be supporting? And none of this only five months nonsense…they’ve had thirteen years to come up with a plan. I’m open to better, I just don’t see it.

Mate! Clacton elected Farage, and his constituency includes the most deprived, underfunded town in England! Don’t base your argument on that…people in despair latching on to someone blaming someone else for the problems.
December 5, 2024 at 8:19 PM
I think we have extremely different views regarding what could be achieved with some political will.
December 5, 2024 at 8:02 PM
Sorry, but what exactly isn’t possible? You genuinely think that a return to the single market couldn’t be achieved within the life of this government? Or even FoM? Go back to 2016…only the most extreme views advocated for what we ended up with…and more support a return of some kind than not.
December 5, 2024 at 8:00 PM
I’ve often wondered this. I know what it says it’s worth, but what does it actually buy you?
December 5, 2024 at 7:51 PM
And it’s not about refighting brexit, it’s about reassessing the British position and outlook in the mid-2020‘s…not what it was in the mid 2010‘s.
December 5, 2024 at 7:48 PM
This Labour government will never again have the majority it has now! If not say and do the right thing now, then when exactly do you think they they will do it?
December 5, 2024 at 7:46 PM
I disagree entirely - saying the right thing, whilst certainly not the same as doing it, would at least send a positive message. Starmer has gone so far as to state that not only is rejoining off the table, so is a request to access the Single Market or a return to FoM.
December 5, 2024 at 7:43 PM
Five months of the wrong message though! They’ve a super majority…how long do they need before they start saying the right thing?
December 5, 2024 at 6:48 PM
I’m not feeling this message coming from them.
December 5, 2024 at 6:46 PM
Being in the service of working people would see you pushing to rejoin the EU, or at least the single market. These “promises” amount to nothing worth anything!
December 5, 2024 at 6:27 PM
I’m actually surprised that this isn’t already a crime! How could it not be…it’s hardly a new problem, unfortunately.
