Former educator, current early retiree. If the republicans are in favor of it, it’s sure to hurt working class people. Let’s not be a kleptocracy overrun by a bunch of grifting oligarchs.
Most of the time, yes. And the really bad stereotypes almost exclusively regard people who are considered minorities.

Hmm, seems to me that stereotypes implicate minorities, and it’s extremely rare when white people feel it’s bite. But nice try.

I don’t think Trump’s pathetic Covid response even entered the realm of ideas with most people in 2024. That’s far deeper than any of them want to get. Hell, most of them can’t even name one thing that Trump has done that has helped their lives.

I’m assuming the term “negative publicity is still publicity” is a crock of 💩 .

As disillusioned as I currently am about this country, I just don’t feel that we’re on the Hitler path. So I’ll stick around at least until the next election in ‘28. We’ll see how manipulated and undemocratic we are by that point and I’ll make a decision.

He was never a shoe-in, and thinking he was is kind of weird to me. He has one 40+ hr season, and one 200+ hit season. He has a nice batting average at .292, but it’s not overwhelming. IMO, he is the definition of a borderline call for the Hall of Fame.

Exactly. Of course, my great grandfather did not wait for things to blow over when he moved the family out of Eastern Europe in 1930 before the Holocaust, a move that saved nearly the entire paternal side of my family. I think about that a lot.

I also have the ability to move if I wanted to, but family, friends, and familiarity keep me here in Florida. It’s getting harder to stay with each passing week, tho.
December 9, 2025 at 8:13 AM
Exactly. I’ve been pondering leaving the country over the last two years, but it’s a tough decision.
December 7, 2025 at 8:32 PM
I tried that a few months back. I’m pretty loud on social media about being an anti-Trump guy and one of my lawyer friends said I should scrub my social media until I could get back into the US. I went to Quebec City though and fell in love. I was like fine I’ll just stay. This place is awesome.
December 7, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Even if I wanted to go, I couldn’t afford it. The prices for tickets are already sky high here in South Florida. I’ll watch on TV though. I’m not gonna miss out on the World Cup just because Trump is a fucking clown.

Taxes*
December 6, 2025 at 8:03 PM
No traces means poor government services, meaning the rich get richer and the poor will mostly starve or die of disease. Taxes are necessary, but the tax formula must be changed radically to be fair.

I believe the number is 108. 8 is how many wars he’s stopped, which is actually overstating his case by 8. 0 is the healthcare plan he’s been promising for 10 years. 29 is his latest job performance poll. 47 is his latest ranking of best to worst presidents. He is truly a legend in his own mind.

FIFA and the IOC are two of the most corrupt sports organizations in history. Ironic that the people in charge of international sports, which is sold to us as a peaceful meeting of different nations, isn’t about world peace or even athletics. It’s all about how much money they can work out of it.

Never used that service thankfully.

Gotta love her gut this. She went hard.
December 3, 2025 at 11:27 PM
I like that term a lot.
December 3, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Totally psychopathic response. We don’t care about the fact we’re killing possibly innocent people with no due process? Wtf???
December 2, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Until 1968, America was about dynasties. Anti-Feds dominates with Jefferson’s presidency and goes over the first half of the 19th century, then the Rs begun by Lincoln until FDR in 1932, then the Dems until 1968. That was the norm. This ever shifting political alignment we see these days is weird.

He doesn’t need to anymore. He has no more elections to run in. If he remains in power, it’s a dictatorship. Either way, it’s pointless unless he needs to solidify his hold over the base because he fears revolt.
