Canada should declare #Trump persona non grata before this year's #G7 summit in AB. He is a threat to our economy, our sovereignty and the western alliance. His attendance is also likely to lead to unmanageable security risks, for all those present. He can attend -and rant!- virtually if he chooses.

It's time for Canadians of all political stripes to unite against a common enemy, the quasi-fascist USA under Donald Trump. Regardless of how the next federal election turns out, all party leaders must commit to a national unity government until the threat is neutralized.

I'm old enough to half-remember my parents being upset when JFK was killed. I do remember the murders of MLK and RFK, plus Vietnam, Watergate and 9/11. I've had an affinity for Americans as if they were more than just allies or trading partners. Now they've unleashed this madman. It's unforgivable.
