Six years ago, this FREE event was one of my most proud co-contributions to Guelph and to the world. Four of us gave a self-introduction of our individual history with depression, and the rest of the night was audience members asking questions. Our aim was to reduce stigma & increase conversation.

Today I stand shoulder to shoulder with people of goodwill from all creeds and nationalities not only to remember all the victims of genocide, but to challenge the injustices we tragically witness today, and the dogmatism and ideology that fuels them.

I strongly believe there’s no such thing as a bad person. The fact that “he whose name I will not speak” has just made so many heinous promises doesn’t change my mind.Nonetheless, I’m having a very hard time thinking of any redeeming qualities. I’m gonna make a concerted effort to be more kind.

I’m starting my umpteenth viewing of Ricky Gervais’ “After Life”. This show is proof that TV can have thought-provoking characters with individual values, meaningful relationships that develop, and many versions of love.

I made a last minute addition to tonight’s menu. Baked sweet Southern cornbread in a 6” cast iron pan. It’s moist and has a nice crust. Colour me happy.

The major highlight of Day 18 of The 21 Days ofDan’s Christmas is family dinner with the Reeds: Gord, Barb, Katlyn, Gillian, Nathan, and their partners. I’m also gonna put the finishing touches on the final chart (sheet music) for my April (hopefully) show. Next will be recording demos for the band.
