The fiction project I don’t want to talk about much, & which I’ve been working on for a few years now, has reached 200 handwritten pages. Typeset, at least 300. No it’s not done. It’ll be done when it’s done. Sorry to be vague but this is the end of my update, carry on

as a fun project I’m going to try to typeset, print, and bind a copy of The Sound & the Fury using colored inks in the first section to denote all the shifts in time, as Faulkner intended, based on margin notes I made in my paperback from the mid- to late ‘90s. Nik goes: “so you miss using Quark?”

Because I’ve got no free time & way too many hobbies, I decided to teach myself bookbinding. Here’s my first try, just a simple 32-page blank sketchbook sewn together with cheap thread, an old shopping bag as a cover & cheap printer paper inside
