Building a sketchbook from scratch for the kid from supplies around the house and it’s going to be a thicc SOB. 96 pages of heavy 300gsm watercolor paper. Cover boards 1/8th inch thick. You’ll be able to hammer nails with it once it’s done

The fiction project I don’t want to talk about much, & which I’ve been working on for a few years now, has reached 200 handwritten pages. Typeset, at least 300. No it’s not done. It’ll be done when it’s done. Sorry to be vague but this is the end of my update, carry on

Because I’ve got no free time & way too many hobbies, I decided to teach myself bookbinding. Here’s my first try, just a simple 32-page blank sketchbook sewn together with cheap thread, an old shopping bag as a cover & cheap printer paper inside

Faulkner’s books sold something like 10,000 copies in his lifetime. An iPhone video I stitched together last night has been seen 129,000 times in less than a day. It is likely the most popular thing I have ever done, or will do. What is this world

AI chatbots are making local pages unusable. This is inaccurate junk. If you admin a local page, turn this shit off -- it's embarrassing

So there are AI bots in local Facebook groups posting engagement bait. What a wonderful use of electricity

Took a tour of Taco's metalworking shop in Fall River with Rep. Jake Auchincloss where he talked the effect of tariffs locally & the benefits of trade schools. Interesting place inside:

Who's to blame for the federal government shutdown? I talked to Rep. Jake Auchincloss briefly this morning to get his take

New-to-me low-top sneakers in very nice cacao waxed rough-out leather from the Horween tannery in Chicago & leather laces — about 40 bucks on eBay. Not bad at all

Kid found a package on our doorstep & opened it thinking it was something cool for her. Turns out it was the newly-translated German 1,001-page experimental-fiction novel I ordered (tho she’s welcome to read it too)

Whenever I log a book on Storygraph, I have a look at the “content warnings” … and I’m not saying all content warnings are silly all the time — but sometimes, oh boy

Easy ride from mom’s nursing home in Warren to India Point Park, Providence. First time I’ve been on a bicycle in maybe a year, but it is as they say

Bought a pair of sneakers on eBay & the guy took my best offer of 10 bucks off the price:
