Yes! Nobody else would touch it, so Toho just said, "Guess it's supposed to be this guy's movie" 🤷. Several scenes, especially in the front half of the movie, totally have the look and feel of advertising from that era.

Absolute cinema. 👌 I love that the Director consulted his 11-year old daughter to write the story based on what she thought would be scary. He totally captures that childlike wonder. It's especially enjoyable with a theater full of people.
