Gee, I haven't heard that before.

Nope. Doesn't work that way. Who knows what the House will do? And even if the House & Senate pass a bill, Trump isn't legally obligated to sign it.

Not until both the House & the Senate pass an appropriate bill funding SNAP. Unless and until that happens, pending cases should proceed.

And what do you think it will do if the Dems cave on the gov shutdown? Have the guts to stand up to him. That's what we elected you to do. Otherwise, this whole exercise has been pointless, and you've accomplished nothing other than to tell Trump that if he waits you out, he'll always win.

P.S. Again, respectfully, you clearly do not know what contempt, civil or criminal, is. You should look it up so that you have one less thing to worry about. Have a nice night.

Paddy, again, with all due respect, there are probably subjects about which you are very knowledgeable, but law/the judicial process does not appear to be one of those. You can't arrest someone and not charge them. If you choose to worry about something that will never happen, so be it.

Why do you think they didn't charge Sandwich Guy with a felony? Because the grand jury refused to indict him for a felony.

Okay, with all due respect, I'm guessing that nothing I say is going to convince you that there is 0% chance of this ever happening. And what do I know? I've only been an attorney for 30 years. You might want to Google or Copilot "does DOJ have to get a grand jury to indict someone?"

I'm getting the impression this exchange is pointless. If you arrest someone & don't charge them w a crime, they have to be released. If you arrest someone & make up a crime, you expose yourself to judicial sanctions & financial penalties for misuse of the judicial process & a possible civil suit.

Specify what? If you arrest someone you have to charge them with a crime, that's what being arrested means. You can't just arrest someone & then say, "we know you haven't committed a crime, but we're going to arrest you anyway." Finding someone not guilty is not now nor has it ever been a crime.

I seriously doubt that any of the jurors want to have to come back again tomorrow for another day of this. There is only so much a person can stomach.

Another Kavanaugh stop - "Are you an American citizen?" Fuck ICE, fuck Trump, fuck all of these assholes. SCOTUS has given them the right to stop anyone at any time for no reason other than how they look. Next step? "Where are your papers?"
