I'm going from anger to apathy. It's taken less than five days of cricket.
Wakes up, checks the #Ashes score, mutters, "Ah well, there's always another chance in four years." Goes back to bed.

Getting pummelled by probably the worst Australian team in 15 years in a country where I've seen us beaten 5-0 twice is a new low.

That is two hours of my life that I will never get back. I'm sure GI and his team are roundly patting themselves on the back though.

Italia '90 began my love affair with the World Cup but that abomination has somehow tarnished and sullied its memory if that makes any sense.

It’s hard to disagree with Ian Wright when he suggests the midfielder has been subjected to a timeworn double standard

This is very good
@naomialderman.bsky.social's new book: "A friend - who’s read the book - texted me yesterday to say “I see they’ve decided to burn Tim Davie at the stake today”. And so I thought it was probably the right time to put this extract on Substack." naomialderman.substack.com/p/the-bbc-an...

It's very unsettling to see your employer come under fire from nefarious sources that actively seek to undermine what it does and what it stands for. The BBC makes mistakes - who doesn't? - but it remains one of this country's greatest assets and needs protecting from dark forces

Club Brugge vs Barcelona looked an absolute riot. Some brilliant goals. #UCL

Some absolutely ludicrously good goals in match day three of the Champions League. Watching Match of the Day and I've made several involuntary noises in response to some of the strikes across the continent. #UCL

It's amazing who you bump into in the office...

British and Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell joined BBC Breakfast this morning and was kind enough to stop for a photo.

The BBC is one of this country's great successes. Having lived abroad, its reputation overseas for broadcasting and programming is unmatched.

Reason the BBC works is its universality. If you replace that with a subscription, it is gone forever.

Season two of The Capture is up there with some of the best TV I've seen. Outstanding.

At least I think it was. Who knows if that's what was originally broadcast... 😉

I've said it before but The Defamation of Strickland Banks is an all-time great album. It's a work of genius. Massively underrated.

I love sport but few events capture the imagination quite like the Ryder Cup. I'm not a huge golf fan - I watch the majors - but I will be glued to my TV for the next three days. Sporting theatre at its very best. 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🏌🏽️⛳

Back in April, I ended up joining @SlimmingWorld - largely because as a Manchester resident you got 12 weeks free but also to support my wife. I was skeptical but today I surpassed my goal of losing two stone! You can see the difference below and I'm feeling good! 💪🏽
