DANQ-UK urges the government to delay the results of this election until voters still waiting for their postal vote packs are properly and legally given their right to vote.

To act on the results of this election, whilst knowing our communities have been denied the right to vote, is a clear message that the UK government does not and will not uphold the rights of disabled and neurodivergent people.

Many disabled and neurodivergent people, as well as their carers, rely on postal voting to uphold their right to take part in fair elections. Many cannot attend their polling station in person, and to offer this as the only alternative could be in breach of the Equality Act, 2010.

People who wear chest binders or compression support can be at greater risk of heat exhaustion and skin issues. If you’re able to, try to plan time to take breaks from such support items, and check your skin for signs of heat rash or broken skin.

Neurodivergent people can struggle to notice when the sun is burning their skin. Try setting reminders or alarms to remind you to reapply sun protection.

Heat can make it harder to concentrate and give you less energy. Be kind to yourself if you feel unable to be as productive as you’d like to be, or if you need to take more breaks.
