Recap on my first months in Jena. It's a fun and vibrant experience of being a student again; vivid conversations, new insights into topics that I never thought about before...and acquired the solemn status of a "Studiengangspapa" for the Southeastern European Studies. 👴🏻

I had the possibility last week to enjoy a temporary exhibit by the German federal archive at Koblenz about Soviet POW in German captivity.

It's never about personal fault. Most people alive haven't participated in these atrocities. It's about democracy and peace. How to build bridges and learn.

A good read on the train. Many topics to think about: how to negotiate something "unnegotionable"? Something entangled to our identity, something sacred?

The bpb issue about Moldova is a short read, but offers an amazing overview over the political, economic and legal status quo.

#flashback on my time dealing with Alexandru Ioan Cuza as Prince of Romania. His statue stands in Heidelberg, where he died in 1873. He was the key actor of my BA-thesis in which I dealt with his political strategy concerning Romanian Jewry.
