Roger should be in the Hall of Fame in my opinion. He was as tough as they come. Not just a flamethrower but a real smart pitcher.
Ironically in 1995 I was so excited to see him pitch and bought good tickets and this is what happened , the gave up four home runs that game in a shocker!

His first game pitching with the Red Sox was July 1, 1986 on my 27th birthday. I treated myself to that game at Fenway. The crowd was so excited to see him pitch for Boston and he got the win going 7 innings and allowing 4 runs. It wasn’t prime Seaver but it was fun!

Bumped into these two in spring training 2017, they couldn’t have been any more cordial, chatted for a few. Stars in their own field!

That was a great moment by Nava, it was however not a walk off home run. It put the Sox ahead though. I was there. Nava is/ was a great story and made a solid impact in that season.

I was a very naive 16 year old and people laughed at me when I said I sent in for tickets. It was shocking to get a nice envelope with eight shiny World Series tickets in it! I gave the game two tickets away and kept the game 6 ones.
