Day 4. The first time the phlegm has not been unbearable upon waking although still very much a problem. Much drainage. The raw throat is the biggest issue. This is the second day of ear pressure popping. No major body aches today. Tons of sputum but it feels like it’s loosening. Still no fever.

Remember when Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, Benny Johnson and others got outed by The Biden DOJ for being on the payroll for Kremlin-linked media operatives?

The records on the current DOJ website still does.

Day 3. Still sick.

Remember when feeling fully sick from a virus only lasted 24 hours and on the rare occasion 48 hours?

Those days ended in 2020 I fear.

Excedrin helps symptoms and balanced nutritional intake is always a good thing, but this sucks.

There is a whole thread of replies a few posts to go.

I feel sick and I feel tired. God be with you and goodnight. 🙏 💙

Fuck that cunt.

But like Bobcat Goldthwaite once said, “I don’t protest to change anyone. I protest to change me because it makes me feel better.”

It was -35° yesterday, and even I burned dinosaur bones to stand with seven people in the little town 26 minutes from where I live. I shared my second to last case of water with them.

And it won’t change one fucking thing.

Ask the people in Moscow for at least the last four years whose footage is repeatedly used by right wing outlets propped up by Russo-Chinese bot accounts as agitprop to get MAGA chuds who do not fact check angry.

You can do it. Even if you are the only one there.

They protested in Minneapolis and Saint Paul yesterday and today. Temperatures were -45°F and -31°F.

Weather is no excuse for rejecting monstrosity. Ask the folks in Brazil even though they lost the last few years. Ask the folks in Venezuela even though they have lost for the last 24 years.

Did you used to watch the beheading videos during the W Bush era?

Not turning a blind eye to the worst of what’s happening in our world/orbit is one thing. But beyond a certain point poisoning one’s own mind doesn’t help anyone.

In retrospect playing gigs the last 10 days or so without a mask myself in crowded bars and coffee shops where nobody wears masks and are content to open mouth cough without looking down or away at any time might have been a mistake.

I haven’t been truly sick in years, so this sucks.

Masks work!
January 24, 2026 at 7:11 AM
They wouldn’t bring it up after this long if it weren’t still a problem the way so many other countries still say it is despite the fact mask usage has plummeted in western civilization for the last 4.5 years or more.

That’s this week’s live guitar update.

So for the first time in about 20 years I’m playing for a crowd which can only help prep me for solo shows. I don’t have a looper pedal and my acoustic can’t plug in nor do I have a pickup for it, so it’ll be an old school-style set. But that’s what I know and these crowds aren’t picky.

“This is a folk song from when I was much younger, and like all the best folk songs it is about a young Japanese municipal worker who has to fight giant robots to save the planet.”

The group was confused, but the crowd dug it. The thing about where I live is every bar has a crowd during the day.

This week I also did Wanted Man (the Dylan/Johnny Cash tune) and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Part 1 by The Flaming Lips.

It’s a pretty large group, though I don’t love the old tymey stuff a lot of them seem to enjoy (This Land Is Your Land, River by Bill Staines, etc.)

But the bar owner liked my singing last week+this week so she said she wants to book me. She said that last week but never called to confirm a Fri/Sat
