Do not be confused by this Apex predators' icy powers. This monster actually manipulates heat. Its ridges and specialized organs are inspired by and act like Heatsinks. It siphons heat away to generate the cold it uses to attack!

Malzeno

The last of the 3 Lords and an incredible showcase in adapting a design. It has all the hallmarks of an aristocratic vampire: The fangs, the crown, the large "collar", the bloody pink accents, even the neckerchief made of the parasites it uses to drain its victims.

Garamgolm

This Fanged Beast is the next of the Three Lords, also inspired by European monsters: Frankensteins Monster and the Golem of Prague. Its ability to mold different "weapons" from the earth, as well as its stoic appearance, aid its inspirations in shining through.

#MonsterHunter Codex #9: Lunagaron

While a Fanged Beast, Lunagaron falls in line with the other two lords, being designed after a classic monster: The Werewolf. When enraged, the Lunagaron stands on its hind legs and grows ice on its body, giving it a werewolves transformation and savage likeness.

Great Izuchi

An interesting mix of concepts, the Great Izuchi takes the typical velociraptor design of most Bird Wyverns, and infuses it with mischievous and thief-like features, chiefly that of a Long-Tailed Weasel, from which its coloration seems to mimic exclusively.

Valstrax

This elder dragon is truly a marvel, inspired by rockets and fighter jets. It has an intake for air on its chest, which it then converts into dragon energy to fire violently from its segmented wings, for either propulsion or to attack.

Anjanath

While obviously a brute wyvern, and therefore very Therapod Dinosaur in inspiration, the Anjanath also takes heavy parts of its design from Vultures, specifically the red-headed vulture, with its shoulder puff of feathers, bald red head and yellowing around the beak.

#MonsterHunter Codex: Legiana

A gorgeous and elegant flying wyvern, the legiana takes its design from the Blue Glaucus, a sea slug known for its beauty and blue coloration, as well as its segmented appendages.

Legianas habitat, the Coral Highlands, a waterless sea, also reflects this inspiration.

Nargacuga

The embodiment of stealth, speed and lethality, Nargacuga is an ambush predator. Its design takes inspiration from panthers, other big cats, and japanese ninjas, with the addition of literal swords for its forelimbs and almost kunai-like projectiles from its tail.

#MonsterHunter Codex: Violet Mizutsune

Like its common counterpoint, the Subspecies is extremely Foxlike in its design. However, it leans much more into the Fiery details of its inspiration. Its purple coloration, along with bubbles infused with explosive fire, give it that mystical Kitsune vibe.

The picture of elegance, the design of Mizutsune is meant to evoke a Fox Spirit from Japanese Myth

The monster itself is pink and frilly, with a bushy tail. It even has a canine-like snout, whiskers, and almost pawlike feet, further emphasizing its Foxlike origins.

Today: Teostra, Lord of Fire

Inspired by Manticores, the Teostra takes elements of from the mythological creature and fuses it to a dragon, while keeping the almost humanlike face, and making its tail resemble a scorpions.
