And to be honest, these are things I’ve only learned by watching students struggle during the pandemic and also dating a special ed teacher. And I’ve become a better and more fair instructor for it

Profs, let’s stop pretending like we have taken education classes outside of our field of expertise

For example, I need text to speech for longer readings and students now can get this. I could have done way better in school and learned more of accommodations were more common in the 90s and early 00s.

And for many of us who are neurodivergent or have other needs, we were in school before reasonable accommodations were more common, so we think “I did it and so can they.” But think about how much more you could have achieved if you had what you needed.

I was wondering what that noise was. But why are there fireworks?
