One of my favorite movies ever.

I adore Terence stamp for so many roles and moments. This is one of the best. 💔

I realize that "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD" has ascended to a sort of super-cultural status, but for my money, this will always be the best Terence Stamp quote of all time
Terence Stamp as Bernadette in "Priscilla Queen of the Desert," saying "Why don't you just light your tampon and blow your box apart? Because it's the only bang you're ever gonna get, sweetheart!"

Honestly, anyone who says “it doesn’t matter” is telling you more about themselves than about any reality on the ground.

On our SDCC panel, @daphneolive.bsky.social—who went from fandom podcasting to working on TV—talked about the balance the Percy Jackson writers have to strike adapting books that have been so fundamental to younger readers. ✨

Screenshot of text reading:

I think it is partly maybe because I’m the person who is most recently from a fandom background, but also, maybe it’s because it’s children’s books, not that just children read [Percy Jackson]...it’s a story that’s so essential to some peoples’ sense of self. So I just feel like in some ways, we’re preserving something that is bigger than anyone involved in it...

Yes, we have to tell a good story. Obviously this is an adaptation. Obviously we have to adapt for television—books and television are different. All of those things, but... it’s a sacred text for a lot of people.

Any time. Cannot wait.

I think my favorite hobby is to be on my favorite podcasts as a podcast listener. First House of R with Joanna and now this. I’m in an ep of @fansplaining.bsky.social now ❤️

Went to #SDCC and I could not have asked for a better start and end. Percy Jackson S2 panel to begin the festivities and IWTV S3 panel on my last night.
I am so so proud of the PJO actors, their poise, and togetherness, and the wonderful people they are.
(The EPs are not too shabby as well 💙)

So excited to be on my first ever panel at my first ever San Diego Comic-Con!
My Black Sails / The Old Man / Percy Jackson and the Olympians selves will all be one. Hope to see you there!
The SDCC panel I will be on: The Fandom Advantage: How Fan Creativity Fuels Pro Entertainment Careers

Location: Neil Morgan Auditorium, San Diego Central Library, Saturday, July 26 at noon.

Creativity. Collaboration. Thinking about The Character in way too much detail. Fandom gives you a unique set of skills for creating things future fans will connect with. These award-winning creators got their start (and are still spending time) in fan spaces. How did that translate to professional success—and how does fandom shape their work? With Javier Grillo-Marxuach (The Witcher, Lost), Daphne Olive (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Old Man), Lin Codega (Motheater, Interview with the Vampire), Britta Lundin (Will Trent, Riverdale), Tessa Gratton (The Mercy Makers, Star Wars: The High Republic), and Brent Lambert (Tordotcom, FIYAH Literary Magazine). Moderated by Elizabeth Minkel (Fansplaining).
