I was worried that support for Palestine might wane a bit with the "ceasefire" announcement... but my wife just sent me these from the March for Gaza in Adelaide (where we live)... And other pics from at least the other AU cities are similarly large crowds... which is wonderful... Keep it up all!

Enjoy a beautiful pic of one of my kitties in the sun outside (he's an indoor cat - we take him out with us sometimes under strict supervision)

Today I checked on my second batch of tepache (made from the same pineapple skins as the first) and its VERY active. So time to bottle it up. I tasted it before bottling and it tastes amazing so looking forward to trying it in a few days! Gonna see if I can get a third batch from this pineapple too!

Yesterday I was in the CBD in my local city and saw this "Artificial Truth Machine"... Turns out its a machine you go up to and talk to AI and it, presumably, harvests all your data (it has cameras and so on) and then gives you an AI generated image in return... wtf is this... I'm so sick of AI -.-

Looks like the ginger bug video failed to upload... so here's a second one showing it bubbling away!

So I've dissolved the sugar into some filtered water, and topped it up with ginger bug to now be bottled and in a few days I should have some home made lemonade! Its pretty impressive how strong the colour is from just 2 lemons and one mandarin!

The second ginger bug was up and running nice and strong, so I sourced some citrus locally from someone giving them away, and grated the rind down and put them in a container with sugar. Its wild how much oil the sugar pulled out of the rind just sitting on the counter overnight!

In the attached image is a 3.5L ginger beer that is now, at the time of posting, a couple of days into brewing and small bubbles are finally forming. It was made with the ginger bug. The middle jar is Pineapple Tepache, which is made all on its own. Its also starting to bubble!

After 5 or so days, I decided to try my hand at turning this into actual soda using fruit juice. I got a locally squeezed orange juice as well as a carton of pineapple juice and mixed them up and bottled them. A few days later I had my first sodas! And they were pretty tasty.

My wife and I are trying to learn to make more basic things and become less reliant on big companies and supermarkets. Figured I might start posting those activities here as well... So lets start with... making our own soda! I'll update this thread as things progress :)

At the beginning of 2025, I made the decision to move from 3D projects in UE5 to 2D in Godot. I'd never used Godot. I'd never worked on 2D projects. And I also decided to learn pixel art for this. I've never been good at art... This is some screenshots of my new project. Its been very rewarding!

Working on different effects to let the player see behind large trees. Which is your favourite version? I'm thinking of going with #3
