Grassroots climate action group in the northern suburbs of Melbourne campaigning for a safe and just climate future including an emergency speed transition to 100% renewables and zero emissions. Authorised by A. Sanson 17 Hartington St Northcote 3070
DCAN welcomes the significant expansion of the Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries program. This helps families cut power bills, reduce peak demand, and take control of their energy use. Most importantly, batteries are good for reducing climate pollution.

Local stories. Neighbours. Friends. Normalise climate action as something people they trust are already doing.

Resistance often comes from worries about control, cost, reliability, identity or trust, not from a lack of information.
Here are some practical ways to ease those concerns through everyday conversation, hopefully without starting an argument over the gravy.

Sometimes the hardest part of climate conversations isn’t the facts, it’s the feelings that underpin them.
Over the holidays, many of us will find ourselves talking about energy, transport or climate with people we love.

Here at DCAN we are way past wondering if the Albanese Government represents the interests of the people of Australia or the gas industry. This continued facilitation of the climate wrecking gas industry in the face of increasing climate crises is beyond belief.

Thank you everyone who contacted MPs and Senator offices in the campaign to make the new nature laws stronger. We now have a new national environment law which has some important improvements but still fails the climate test. Incredulously climate pollution won't be taken into account in decisions.
