“Rodri is a recognized CB by the IBC but not by the WBC…”

Interesting tidbit from the new Washington Post poll on the VA governor's race: at least in this poll's records, Trump's approval ratings in the state are the best they've ever been.

Haven’t listened to the interview, but in broader context, we’ve seen Thompson and Yglesias play along with similar views (ie that more people should be strategist/communicators, perhaps even almost all people on Twitter), so perhaps unfairly, I think people are reading it in that light.

Some of that (at least in the US) is they were aligned to popular critiques of college, whereas now those critiques are more focused on gender ideology or people not studying STEM.

On a slightly different tack, I guess my model is that there *used* to be significant snob representation in the critic class, so that someone like a Gene Siskel would go to bat for My Dinner With Andre or something. But now the type of guy who would advocate you read War and Peace is not present.

Like that’s why the phones thing is funny. Sure he hates phones but he cooked his mind on weed. Not so far in the past, is it?

Ah that’s right, thought that was at Autzen for some reason. But that obviously was in ‘12.

It’s disorienting (purposefully, I presume) that a ton of the signifiers in the long setup are still straight out of the 60s but it’s set in the present day.
