Not a doctor, but I'm 61 and my arm veins are shite. All blood work had to be taken from the back of my hands until they put my port in (for chemo).

I'm wondering if there is a medical reason he can't have a port or PICC line.

It is German onion pie. Onions,bacon, eggs, sour cream, caraway seeds in a pie crust and baked. Very tasty.

I like making Zwiebelkuchen, which takes 6 pounds of onions, cooked translucent. It used to take me about 3 hours, in batches, to cook.

I use a pressure cooker now. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes and I can cook the whole 6 pounds at the same time.

You can use it to caramelize them too.

I ended up making bacon-wrapped turkey breast, cornbread stuffing, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, biscuits, and pumpkin pie. One less side than originally planned.
