That's a nice looking eye. The thumbnail... Caught my eye...

I love the color palette on this one.

Perhaps it looks worse in ways, but I think there's gains for the cohesiveness of the composition as a whole. With a little practice you'll probably see a quick rebound in the quality of the individual elements.
