Barack Obama's Irish roots are better-documented than JD Vance's. Obama's Irish ancestry can be traced back to Moneygall, a village in County Offaly, Ireland, where his third great-grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, lived before emigrating to the United States on one of the dreaded "coffin ships".

I knew @katiephang.bsky.social would be a star when I met her years ago in the MSNBC green room.

She breaks down the Trump Admin's unconstitutional nonsense in front of the Supreme Court & their racist agenda.

She also shares why she left MSNBC.

The Trump Administration Versus The Constitution of the United States of America
The hoods are off as the Trump Administration seeks to end birthright citizenship, suspend habeas corpus, and deport immigrants of color. Will the Supreme Court rubber stampd white supremacy?

As the Trump Administration is kidnapping and deporting brown immigrants without due process, and welcoming white South African "refugees" with fanfare, they're asking the Supreme Court to ignore the 14th Amendment and end birthright citizenship.

You can call it racist and white supremacist now.

1. Trump says imposing tariffs on nearly every nation on earth is essential to force companies to make investments in the US instead of abroad

But since taking office, the Trump Organization has announced new multi-billion $ development deals in the UAE, Qatar, India and Vietnam

And NONE in the US
Trump promised no new business deals with foreign governments. He lied.
On January 10, 2025, President Trump released an "ethics agreement" detailing how he would handle his personal business interests while in the White House.

I don't think oligarchs or business owners, or politicians need to have billions of dollars, or even hundreds of billions of dollars. They can have three dollars, or maybe one dollar.

So Navarro here is expressly admitting that it was Trump’s tariffs that caused the economy to contract in the first quarter of 2025.
Peter Navarro on CNBC reacts to the shrinking GDP number by insisting it's actually good news because if you strip out the effect of tariffs "you have 3 percent growth. So we really like where we're at now."

Republicans fake disbelief about climate change is a cover up, in order to defend and protect the richest people in America, not you and me. Not the most defenseless.

There was a time they’d hide it, not any more. How people continue vote for them is beyond me.

Republicans won’t raise the federal min wage of $7.25 because they Claim it will tank the economy—hasn’t budged since 2009.

California raised it to $16.50 statewide, $20/hour for fast food—and in cities like West Hollywood, it’s $19.61.

No collapse. No chaos. Just the 4th biggest economy on Earth.
Not only is California the 4th largest economy in the world—it’s growing faster than any of the top three: U.S., China, and Germany.

Red state Republicans love to hate us… but they sure don’t mind cashing the checks.

Fellow immigration lawyers will recognize the theme of this case as “ERO goes into big boy court and quickly figures out that it can’t get away with the lax evidentiary standards it’s used to in court.”

/ERO = ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, the “cops” of internal enforcement.
NEW: In a SCATHING decision, Judge Briones of the Western District of Texas absolutely SAVAGED the government over this case, tearing to shreds ICE’s hearsay “evidence” that this husband and wife were in Tren de Aragua as “completely and wholly unsubstantiated” — and ordered their immediate release!
