Just picked up my copy! Folks, I was lucky enough to read this one early, and it is a BANGER. A powerful vampire revenge road trip that’s melancholy and wild and dark and bad-ass, with two lead characters that are utterly compelling. I love Keith’s writing. Y’all need to get this!!

Y’all. This novel. @claymcleod.bsky.social’s third book this year (!) is a YA horror coming out in November, and it’s a doozy. SHINY HAPPY PEOPLE is a masterpiece of eerie unease, creeping dread, and suffocating terror. Highly recommended, I think you should all preorder it. It’s so good!

THE DEVILS by @joeabercrombie.com is magnificent. Follows a gang of supernatural misfits through an alternate medieval Europe. Full of action, heart, horror, and I can’t emphasize enough just how funny this book is. Haven’t laughed so much with a book in a long time. Massively entertaining.

I’ll be processing the many ways that @sgj.bsky.social’s THE BUFFALO HUNTER HUNTER is amazing for a long time, I think. Structure, language, story about 3 characters yet it’s about nations too. Unexpectedly funny, expectedly horrifying. Brilliant reimagining of vampires. Just, everything, really.

Just tore through this in a day, such a totally gripping tale of snowy horror driven by deeply compelling characters really going through (and fighting through) some shit.
