Hello friends...I'm struggling a lot these days, so my apologies for not sharing as much as I'd like. However, I do have a little something for #WiPWednesday that I'll hopefully be able to post as a thread starting tomorrow 💕

Who could it be visiting the school book fair?? 🤔🦉🤔
“Okay, children.” Suzuki-sensei, the school librarian, gently calls out to get their attention. “You have 45 minutes today to pick out your books. If you need help figuring out the cost, you can ask me, or any of the parents that are here volunteering.” She gestures around the room; Mio recognizes the parents of several of her friends, who are all waving and calling out their parents’ names. The parents smile and wave back, much quieter than their kids—probably because they were told not to make a scene, Mio reasons. “Everyone?” Suzuki-sensei says, and the children snap back to attention. “I’m going to let you go in a minute, okay? Remember that the discount table is over here, and if you want to purchase manga…” “You have to come over here!” booms a voice, and Mio and the rest of her classmates look up. Striding through the door, and over to the manga table, is a tall, broad man, with spiky silver hair and a beaming grin. He’s wearing the red uniform of the Japanese National Volleyball Team, but even if he wasn’t, Mio would know him anywhere.

Those words, spoken by Bokuto at seventeen, nineteen, twenty-two, had hurt enough to linger, timbre and pitch and intensity all burned into the worn-down edges of his memory: Akaashi, I’m seeing someone! “Bokuto-san,” he said, his own voice hoarse and cracking. “I’ve been seeing someone.” -- When Akaashi is pursued by one of his literary idols, he wonders if it's finally time to move on from his unrequited love for his best friend.

I know this isn’t why anyone follows me, but I’ve been writing some self-indulgent #atsuomi royal omegaverse (prince kiyoomi, mercenary atsumu) to cheer myself up between sad Akaashi chapters!

Luckily, he’s known Motoya long enough that it doesn't take more than a quick glance for him to communicate his no. “It’s coming,” Kiyoomi says, wincing a little as Motoya’s hand catches on a particularly unruly curl. “Someone from his pack of sycophants will be desperate for a favour, and I’ll be the bargaining chip.” “Maybe it will be someone kind,” Motoya says, letting some of Kiyoomi’s hair slip through his fingers. “Someone ruled by his heart, rather than a lust for power or coin. Someone who will take one look at you and know that you can never be parted.” Kiyoomi can tell from the bright spark in his eyes that there’s a part of his cousin that actually believes such nonsense. Though perhaps for him, it will be true. Motoya’s sweet natured and soft, with just enough pedigree to be a desirable match without the sort of expectations that come along with being a member of the royal family. He will have his pick of suitors, and his parents, excessively doting since the day he was born, will never force a choice upon him. Kiyoomi, meanwhile, will be pawned off to the highest bidder; any chance that he would have some choice in the matter died along with his mother. “There.” Kiyoomi’s braid crown is immaculate, threaded through with pieces of greenery that must have been secreted away in Toya’s pockets. “It looks perfect.” It does, Kiyoomi begrudgingly admits, pull focus from some of his harsher features. The long line of his neck looks almost delicate, his dark eyes somehow softened. That’s the real reason Motoya is here, Kiyoomi is sure: to try to mold him into something meek and elegant. Into someone who can be passed off and bred, securing whatever line his brother deems worthy of an alliance. “Maybe now we can—” Motoya’s suggestion is lost in the sound of a heavy knock. He hurries over to the door, pulling it open to receive the messenger on the other side. “You’re wanted in the King’s Hall,” the harried young man says, sweat prickling his hairline as he does his best to mask the heavy rise and fall of his breath.
