Which is probably the only reason a First Order TIE Fighter has grey foils - now you have two toys to sell.

I agree that would have been a better location for a show.

I wish I could give it that level of thought - but the writers didn't and I don't want to spend time justifying their laziness.

The First Order is the Empire under a different name, just as the Resistance is the Rebellion.

It's a copy, not an homage. It's laziness, and an insult to the fans.

Daddy Abrams just pats little JJ's head and says "sure son, you do that. But what about Luke, wouldn't he stop it again?"

"Hmm, you're right dad. No, Luke is on a desert island and there's a map to get to him but it doesn't work and R2 has it but he's really, really asleep and won't wake up."

But the shell of The Last Jedi is a chase movie, with a shoehorned redemption ark for Luke. A chase movie! It's was a brave choice for a mainline Star Wars movie (spin off would have been a no-brainer) but at least it was an INTERSTING choice.

Bigger Death Star? Death Star guns on ships? No thanks.

Completely agree. I am a big fan of Rian did and I think if he'd had the whole trilogy then we'd have all enjoyed it a lot more. But he was given the middle chapter and took risks when it was already established by Force Awakens that Disney was risk averse. Force Awakens is New Hope, done badly.

Absolutely. I think it was a "good" story in that it did something unexpected, but I do think it was pretty dull.

The Last Jedi is the ONLY movie of the sequel trilogy I thought was good and interesting, and I'll die on that hill, but it isn't perfect.

... the casino planet was weak, but it's no worse than half of RotJ with the Ewoks.

The Force Awakens left the series in a bind. Our great hero, the saviour of the galaxy, apparently learned nothing from history and turned his back in fear rather than face a student.

Rian had to justify that character change and he leaned into it. Controversially, but effectively.

And yes...

I suggest trying Tchaikovsky's City of Last Chances. Excellent fantasy where magic is its own science.

Trying to make time to play all the great romhacks that came out recently. Spoilt for choice! You?

Brit living in Denmark here. I pay a total of 46% of my income in state and local taxes. It's worth it! The state services are stable, I've never waited more than 2 hours in A&E (and that was busy) and I can call my doctor for an appointment on the same day - in the capital city.

One of my favourites, an absolute classic.

Just got these two next to each other.

I helped some at a train station in Copenhagen and they killed they were Canadian. Couldn't help but chuckle

As a Brit living in Denmark, it's pretty damn great. Came here for the free Master's degree, stayed for the work/life balance and every other benefit of being here.

Same day GP appointment? Done.
Unemployment insurance? Yes please.

Only real negative is lack of variety in supermarkets...
