For me my eyes on first sight is drawn towards these areas. I don't know if it's because when I see blue with a yellow line makes me think of you. But it might be because the background is appearing to be more vibrant than the foreground.

I sometimes like artists to have artistic liberty with art but you should definately get a reference done since that can be more of a frustration to them.
For example I like doing species swap but they have a base ref to work from.
