when can we bust into harmony?
I see it now. The market as a system that filters out Good games from Bad (narrative, authored, political).

Great piece. The move I'm trying to understand is them drawing a direct ideological line from ludocentrism to neoliberalism. I buy at face value that neoliberalism is in play at all levels of this discussion but can't quite connect the dots there specifically.

I'm sure this is a hashed out framework somewhere already but maybe there's a distinction between being true and being correct. I.e. the earth is a sphere is true, but it's not correct. I think what I'm responding to in Phil's thread is where the difference between the two is harder to map.

I like to say that everybody is wrong almost all the time. That's maybe not a fair claim at face value. To your point, the burden of proof for being right is so high + there is so much complexity to navigate that often the best we can do is use models that by definition have an inaccuracy embedded.

Agreed, this one was really fantastic! Didn't realize how much this game was doing for the collection. Looking forward to see the metanarrative unravel here towards the end. Also followed up on the @rangedtouch.bsky.social episode on The Grasshopper--noteworthy how critical they are.

I ran into Dave Chappelle at a hookah bar in DC in the aughts with my cousin and a friend. As we were walking away from the encounter he said "and may you all have many wives" which is hilarious and def a curse.

I'm a Twitter/bsky lurker and I've followed your writing for a long time and as a dad with a toddler, I just want to say that this right here, these reviews, this is the good shit.
