I would like to add that I 'think' the game modifies its difficulty so that the battle after that moment becomes a lot easier... but I also like to think my anger and desire for vengence made me a better pilot. lol

Ace Combat 6 had a moment that gave me my first real emotional response to the story in games as medium.
Never had I felt so angry at the loss of a fictional character before... and not just because they were my favorite.
