As a resident of New Mexico and AI Researcher, LISTEN to me when I say this is a bad idea. We don't need something like the Manhattan Project for AI. We need something like the International Atomic Energy Agency for AI.

New research from MIT on AI in materials science: AI-assisted researchers saw a bump in patent filings, rise in product innovations, increased productivity, BUT they said job satisfaction was reduced when using AI.

Good news, everyone.
I actually believe both of them about this, surprisingly. I did a YouTube video about AI and nuclear weapons a while back, and I think the risk is overblown. However, this is not something we want to fuck around with. Great decision by the world's 2 most influential countries.
