Green beans and roasted veggies are cooked, pecan pie is in the oven, probably going to make a pumpkin pie too. Texting with my kids, drinking a glass of wine, and reading Cloud Atlas. Maybe everything is lovely right at this moment.

I’m thinking about making a quilt without really measuring anything. I’ve been making paper pieced blocks and like that better, but it might be fun to just go free form and see how it turns out.

I’m also a solitary person, but have discovered taking group classes at the gym is like having an appointment and I’m more likely to stick to it, and very much to my surprise, I prefer it. I’m also cheap, so want to “get my money’s worth” from the gym, adding to the likelihood of showing up.

When I was 8 mom let me make a pecan pie by myself. I put in 1/4 c of salt. It was a beautiful pie. Everyone raved about how pretty it was. My uncle took a piece home and couldn’t wait, so took a bite while driving on the freeway. He stopped at a pay phone to call and tell us not to eat it 😆

My family isn’t huge on casseroles except for Thanksgiving. So far there will be: squash, sweet potato, broccoli, and hash brown. Also cornbread dressing which might count (though no dairy is involved with that one).

I've never heard mindblown, but I really dislike "it's not aesthetic." I'm also a word nerd and aware of how language changes, but I don't like this particular change.

Don’t know if the whole state smells like leaves (leaf litter in the woods, specifically) in the fall and fresh cut grass in the summer, but those are Tennessee smells to me.

I’ve been checking in notes this year “things are unsettled in the world of marketing, so I’m checking in to see how folks are doing, etc” It’s easy, puts me in mind, and the answers are interesting. #FreelanceFriends

A2) this is something I’m exploring with a new product/service. In the past, all I handed over was the deliverable, but this will require ongoing access to something I create, so it needs thinking through. #FreelanceFriends

A1) last year I realized that almost all of my clients end up being long term. I don’t really have on off-boarding system, but I am a regular check in kind of person. #FreelanceFriends

It’s all so gross and I don’t want to know about it and resent that I do 😣

This made me go look up my district — it’s 3 — and though I knew it was gerrymandered, it was still shocking to see how badly. I wish I could vote for her, but like Abram, I can’t.
