My issue (detailed elsewhere on this thread) is not with Slot. It’s the TC.
I feel we’ve acted very unlike Liverpool. At a time of deep hurt we changed a huge amount of personnel. We ripped up a winning team and formula and sold excellent local talent. This is not like us.

Good teams become great because of that bond.
They know how to dig deep because of shared experiences.
We lost Diogo and instead of a few changes it was unwarranted wholesale change.
They lost a great mate and instead of being able to put an arm around each other, we sold a load of people….

….so my disconnect is not with Arne. It’s with the TC. They’ve changed too much/too soon because they believe footballers are plug & play. Arne eluded to his doubts multiple times around the volume of change. Some was obviously necessary, but some, Quansah?

..be very clear, Isak had to do halftime shuttle runs as he hadn’t made enough sprints. This isn’t a lack of preseason, it’s who he is.
We have Gakpo, Wirtz, Isak & Mo. That’s a toothless press.
Diaz, Nunez & Jota battled constantly & never gave an opponent a minute on the ball….

we got rid of tenacious battlers who regained possession & have a front 4 that doesn’t press. This impacted on our best asset (Ryan, Dom, Mac) by removing one of them for Wirtz which has weakened us defensively & directly impacted the CB’s.
We have 21 year old fullbacks starting who are struggling..

I feel (after 40 years) more disconnected from this team than at any point.
We’ve behaved like Chelsea. We sold local talent, good local talent.
We have ripped up the successful model of a winning team.
We have bought player who are “Liverpool” players.
We’ve foisted people in & not bedded them in.

He was afforded grace for multiple reasons:
We were royally entertained.
We punched well above our weight.
Year on year there was progression.
We performed transfer miracles.
Everything we saw was “very Liverpool” on & off the pitch.
Games like Dortmund & Barca.
He got us.
We could feel again.

Context is key.
We’d lost an entire side to injury: Virg, Matip, Gomez, Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Jota, Alisson etc.
It was also Covid, we’d lost players to the virus loads. Keita, Ox & Milner constantly had injuries & it was on the back of our longest ever winning streak.
We finished 3rd.

I lived in an apartment in Manchester, lovely new build, dead posh.
One night I came home to find a Pheasants head (dripping blood) dangling from green ribbon that had been drawing pinned to my door frame

A small pool of blood was on the floor.

No sign of similar anywhere else.

Was I cursed?

I’d say so but make sure all the wheels are aligned, it seems overly fussy but if you go too far and too fast it can lead to all sorts of issues, especially if the road surface is damp.

I honestly see Wirtz, Isak & Hugo as post-Mo signings.

Hugo is the easiest to add straight in.

We have outrageously attacking fullbacks, if you remove Mo, play Hugo/Isak as a front two. Width from the fullbacks, Wirtz at the point of a diamond with Dom,Ryan,Mac behind, it works.

Yep. I’d be happy if he never commentated on a game Liverpool play in ever again, but I’d happily see him on Question Time challenging the litany of right wing ghouls they wheel out every week to explain how bad immigrants are.
