Great song. One of my regrets is not seeing them properly. I did see them do a couple of numbers at a corporate do but this wasn’t one of them☹️. Chas Hodges has a fascinating life, this is well worth a listen.

I saw Frankie Miller do this at a local charity gig about 35 years ago. Backing band were Gary Brooker of Procol Harum and I think, Bill Wyman, Andy Fairweather Low and a couple of others. Drink may have been taken so a bit hazy but it was quite a night.

It became a cool show for stars to appear on and although Henson was American, it was very British in lots of ways, using music hall songs and ideas. It’s where I first heard Gilbert and Sullivan and saw Alice Cooper. Kids can enjoy different stuff if it’s imaginatively presented.

I grew up with the original show. It was cool to be on it: Debbie Harry, Alice Cooper, Elton and loads more appeared. I’m sure stars would want to do it now.
