Ali and Anton: Who?
Madison and Joe: Joe needs actual help and shouldn’t be on the show
Annie and Nick: This relationship is a ticking time bomb and the only question is when it will go off.

My thoughts on the latest episodes of LOVE IS BLIND:
Megan and Jordan: hot take - you shouldn’t go on controversial dating shows if you have a kid.
Kalybriah and Edmond: Absolute disaster pairing. Edmond is not what this woman is looking for or needs.

I think it looks pretty good for a phone but I guess you don’t and that’s fine!

TRON: ARES is total nonsense. The script and characters are total dogshit. Sure does look pretty though! The Lightcycle stuff is legit. And the score fuckin RIPS.

If you treat it as a “Listening Party for the New NIN Album with Pretty Pictures” it’s possible to have a very good time with this.

Extremely special night seeing my movie THE PRIMARY INSTINCT projected in a theater with a live audience. People laughed and cried! It was beautiful.

Picked up a Shure MV7+ mic to use on the road and gotta say this thing sounds amazing and is very easy to use. I wish the mute button was easier to access and I don’t love that you need to use the Shure Motiv app to get the best results. Otherwise tho, big fan.

LOVE IS BLIND season 9 on Netflix is not a trainwreck. That’s because the word trainwreck is not adequate to denote how horrific this is. This is a full-on natural disaster, like a Kaiju-laid waste-to-the-city type deal.

This show has proven that it no longer has any redeeming value whatsoever.

I’m in LA for the next few days. If we are mutuals and you want to connect, hit me up and we can try to make something happen.

Me before watching this season of LOVE IS BLIND: Wow the near-total lack of Asian representation on this show is really disappointing.

This is so weird because I distinctly remember during the campaign tons of people telling me that we shouldn’t be associating him with Project 2025 so much
Project 2025 offers a sweeping vision for a Republican-led executive branch, and some of its policies mirror Trump’s 2024 agenda, But Harris and her presidential campaign have at times gone too far in describing what the project calls for and how closely the plans overlap with Trump’s campaign.

I loved GOOD FORTUNE (in theaters Oct 17). A hilarious movie that’s about what it means to be human and to struggle. A tight script with great payoffs and a wonderful performance by Keanu as an angel who’s just trying to help, man.

The ending was beautiful and moving and left me in tears.

Either way im disappointed the convo never fully reckons with TNC’s comments about Kirk and what Klein’s support of Kirk actually means in that context.

Despite that, a great convo and one that needs to continue among everyone.
davechen.bsky.social
TNC argues, hey, maybe we shouldn’t really care about those ideas if they are opposed to our humanity. Sometimes being right means being unpopular and cutting people and their ideas out of our lives.
davechen.bsky.social
Klein is grappling with the idea that excluding people and not talking to the other side has led to the current predicament, and hey, maybe we should look at what the other side is doing, appreciate it for what it is, and try to convince them.
davechen.bsky.social
Klein is in the midst of an existential crisis about how everything he’s attempted to do in public life has essentially ended in utter failure with Trump’s election.

Of course these two starting positions would lead to extremely different conclusions on how best to approach our current problems.
davechen.bsky.social
The biggest thing that struck me was how these two seem to be trying to accomplish different things entirely during the course of the convo.

TNC situated his actions as a writer in the context of a generational struggle for justice.

Some thoughts on the Ezra Klein podcast ep with Ta-Nehisi Coates: first of all, it’s a great episode and I’d recommend people check it out regardless of how much you disagree with either party.
