Not read too many (working to fix that though!) but Bunker Soldiers is way way up there. Tension, atmosphere and Dodo! Perfection from Mr Day!

Androzani does actually make my top three Whos. Unrelenting, gritty and travels at the pace of Stotz’s crashing spaceship to the best regeneration. Wouldn’t want Who to be like this every time and Season 22 proves that it shouldn’t be but at this point in the show this is outstanding. Keep keep keep

I never know what to make of Planet of Fire. The show starts early with its objectification of Peri and that scuppers Nicola Bryant’s tenure as they never let it go. Great departure for Turlough, clever use of the Master and a great part 2 cliffhanger. But the mystic stuff is a bit dull. Undecided!

Resurrection was once my favourite story. It’s dropped from those heights with more adult eyes. Great spectacle, the visuals are a treat particularly in the warehouse scenes but it’s a schizophrenic and hollow story that never quite works out what it wants to be. Chuck it out a second storey window!

Frontios: the Target book cover terrified me as a littleun. The story can’t achieve that level of horror but it’s one of Davison’s best. Turlough gets well used and some actual humour in there at Tegan’s expense. Best of the Bidmeads by far! Keep it and cherish it.

I like The Awakening a lot. Classic camp turn from Dennis Lill in the Zaroff school of villainy. Slight but perfectly paced. The decapitation was a good bit of horror. I don’t even mind that the story ends early for a ten minute discussion about tea! Keep!

Warriors. Obviously the overlighting is an issue but its problems run deeper. Swap in some other shock-troop style threat like Sontarans and it could work as the Silurians and Sea Devils are mishandled more than in the modern era. Three bins out of three for Johnny Byrne from me!

Not as unremittingly bleak as its reputation but still its lack of humour can be a slog. Davison is at his best though and the change in tone from the ethereal season 19 is more to my taste, however the Saward of it all is starting to show and the seeds of cancellation are sown here.

How sad to hear, he wrote some great novels and always put so much detail, effort and research into his books. Working through the NAs and White Darkness and Sanctuary stand out so much. Often underrated but a huge part of so many ranges. May he go gently. Love to his nearest and dearest.

Enemy stands out by daring to be different. The less said about Snowmen and Wheel the better.

Takes a successful and exciting formula for a Who story and proceeds to kick the shit out of it across 40 weeks. Some strong stories, Web of Fear living up to expectations upon its return, but even what should be a classic like Fury feels a drag if watching the season in order.

Starts as almost an X Files homage with shadowy aliens and conspiracy themes. Ironic as like that show the stand alone stories shine while arc quickly disappears up its own backside. The trio of A Good Man, Hitler and Wedding sink some otherwise competent to great episodes (Closing Time aside!).
