I've been looking back to December 1978 for a similar set up. It was a battle that took a couple of weeks and NY '79 had a very memorable Beast from the East. Most of December was pretty miserable from memory, until finally the cold air won.

Four on the top of Streatham Hill, we just missed an air frost at 0.3ºC on the 22nd of the month. I imagine down in Streatham Vale they would have had an air frost.

A frost hollow in Scotland fell to -18ºC last week over snow. It's that time of year with longer nights and snow cover, it's a given.

I can’t see anything about the use of PDE inhibitors (e.g. sildenafil) as an exclusion in the studies, so I wonder if that may also explain some of the increase?
