However, there are some important differences between AVs and Lyft/Uber. On the + side, likely lower P0 (commuting to ridehailing location) miles for AVs.
OTOH, AVs likely less efficient due to sensor/compute power and aero drag from roof pods and pooling is going to be harder to implement

It would be a bit complicated and I’m not sure we have enough data available. We have looked at ridehailing emissions www.ucs.org/sites/defaul...
and the deadhead miles matter, but not as much as the switch from ICE to EV

It’s the same question with AI, right? Use AI to get rid of customer service jobs etc. and then ultimately have no customers.
The ‘vision’ for these guys seem to be new cities where they are the ruler with AI and robots instead of needing those pesky proles. (Musk - Mars, Thiel - seasteads, etc )

I’m sure Waymo’s vehicles cost more to make and deploy, but they do have the advantage of existing and actually working.
