I say this as a lifelong Boilermaker: That really really sucks, for IU, and especially for him. Poor kid.

For the two I am connected to, and I suspect a couple others at least, it was about fairness and proper process. They needed to be convinced there was a good, legitimate reason for it, and clearly there was not. The threats they received just dug them in harder. Still, it took courage.

Would love to see a breakdown of those who voted against in terms of whether they're up for re-election in 2026 or 2028.

For the two I still communicate with, it really was about fairness. They needed to be convinced there was a good, legitimate reason for it, and clearly there was not. And the threats they received just dug them in harder. Still, it took courage.

Right?!? When was the last time Indiana made national news for something that wasn't embarrassing?? 😄 Definitely need to thank your senator if he/she voted no!

I live in the house that was my grandparents' in rural Indiana. Its first running water (toilet, sink, shower) came in 1948, part of a new detached garage, so my grandfather could clean up before coming into the house from the dairy barn. A bathroom was added to the house itself in 1952.

Have been reading and really enjoying a history for the past week -- lots of new-to-me details, insights, perspectives. Then it got a small but really basic fact wrong (majority vs plurality), almost as an aside, & now I obsess on it & distrust everything else I read. So frustrating!
