The Hind is back from restoration and is looking good.

A Hawker Hind at the Shuttleworth Collection. It has been through a restoration and is looking good in a silver and black paint scheme with the aluminium panels around the cockpit and engine highly polished. The Hind is an early 1930s biplane bomber which shocked the establishment by being faster than the contemporary fighters.

I've just been fighting with PowerPoint slide sizing. If you select A3 it switches to a 4:3 aspect ratio. It knows what the dimensions should be but sets them to a 4:3 region within that. The way they present dimensions also seems designed to confuse. It does A4 better.
The page setup dialog from PowerPoint 16 on a Mac, though it is the same on Windows. I have selected A3 Paper (297x420 mm) but it showing Width 35.56 cm Height 26.67 cm, a 4:3 ratio. Note that for extra confusion they change both the order of width and height and mm to cm. The same dialog box but with A4 selected. The numbers work out much closer, given a bit of a margin.

A clip from a page about Harry Hill on comedy.co.uk: But it was Stouffer that became the most beloved puppet of the series. He was a frankly odd-looking plastic cat, that was originally black, but Harry had him remade in blue for the TV series, thus an icon was born. Stouffer would sit astride a throne being supported by an obviously fake arm. The whole sketch was a kind of loose parody of variety acts such as Rod Hull and Emu. Harry would say, 'That's it Stouffer, you help me' whenever he quite obviously needed to use his hand through the puppet in order to open that week's fan letter. Initially, Channel 4 executives were confused by the whole concept and expressed concerns that in Harry's scenes with Stouffer you could see his mouth moving.

DH88 Comet Grosvenor House

Grosvenor House, registered G-ACSS, was one of three DH88s built for an England to Australia air race in 1934 and came in as the winner. It has two engines, narrow wings and a long nose, which holds the large fuel tanks.

The William Towns designed Aston Martin Lagonda was a stunning wedge shaped luxury four door saloon car. This infrared picture from a front quarter view shows the sharpness of some of its lines in the difference between reflected sky and deep shadow. Or I like to think so anyway.

Napier Railton and a small dog in IR

The Napier Railton aero engined racing car holds the absolute lap record at Brooklands, set in 1935. The picture shows it in front of a hangar at Shuttleworth during the 2024 Race Day event. The infrared converted camera has made the crowd around the car a mix of pale blue and grey, but the car and a small dog appear normal.

Chiffchaff at Fen Drayton

I frequently hear them but rarely catch a glimpse of a chiffchaff. It's light brown with a lighter streak over its eye and it has a narrow sharp looking beak. Its perch is about to burst into leaf as the picture was taken in early April.
