I think what you are describing is Trump taking advantage of rights the US already has through current agreements and if expressed in this way would be accepted by Denmark/EU. That's what makes the rhetoric so confusing. He appears to be saying that having bases is not enough.

Maybe if we just didn’t call it soft power they’d like it. Let’s say from now on bombing is “hard” power and making an alliance and providing aid is “harder” power. See if they like it better now.

Practicing lawyer input here, no POV on the prof’s ethical duty angle. But, if you’re going to take on representation for a client where the opposition can cite your own scholarship, you better fully inform client of that and let them decide if you’re the best advocate to take up their case.

No one ever: I just sold this stock at an all time high and made a ton of money. But the P/E ratio sucked and that sort of takes the thrill out of the gain.

Enjoyed listening. Had two thoughts: 1) “Judicial humility” (to political branch) when considering the breadth of what may be allowed when Const unclear, and 2) for delegated powers, super deference should apply to uphold when strings attached.

Interesting approach from the guy who just called him self the "chief law enforcement officer" of the US and has gotten rid of the independent DOJ. Could this be used by the defense to show a violation of rights/process?
