One of the challenges I like is new folk joining a dev team. It’s like a slow paced movie or series where the real plot isn’t revealed till the third act - and it was way better than the previews.

Facing up to fascism: A colleague at a dinner party last week suggested that we all watch the Olympiad movie, a Nazi propaganda film about the 1936 Olympics, to familiarize ourselves with the aesthetics of fascism. The images of Trump and friends at the UFC match reminds me I need to do this.

Months ago I chose to work and vacation in Ireland for November. No regrets. Great to be away from the noise, be reminded that life and governments are fleeting, that time spent building and caring for one another is time never wasted.
