Typically places like these have exemptions for delivery vehicles, sometimes restricted to mornings when foot traffic is low. I genuinely don’t know what problems you expect for the disabled? There is typically (disabled) parking relatively nearby.

What’s a conventional bike? To me (Dutch) upright is simply what a bike is in daily life.

Sure, a fully loaded car is much more efficient. This isn’t the reality of typical use, however. Should this be encouraged? Of course. But when talking about the impact of cars we should’t deluding ourselves in thinking this is very common.

This is in large part because people have such a limited understanding of what “fitness” means. All those other ways of being evolutionarily “fit” were always what Darwin had in mind, it’s just that modern minds immediately jump to big muscles and other sporty standards of succes.

Good for you. I drive my car to and from work on weekdays, and vanishingly rarely for anything else. Different needs, different expectations, different choices.
