I'm sometimes an artist and always a non conformist. I used to make jewelry but these days I'm into music and photography. I've traveled a lot in my life and speak several languages. More on my website.

King Crimson's first album, At the Court of the Crimson King. Robert Fripp when he was young. Another $1 dregs score, a surprising one because this one has some resale value.

Los Feos de Columbia - The Ugly Guys from Columbia. Another dregs find, found in a stack of dollar records picked over by numerous collectors and dealers. Cumbia from 1980, the Spanish lyrics are filled with sexual innuendo.

Another random jazz album. It's turned into one of my favorite random records bought over the last year. I've played it several times already. 1950s jazz is one of my favorite genres these days for random record buying.

Random album cover. Flamenco from the early 1960s. This one was really worth a listen and I love the cover photo. Buying cheap vinyl is very competitive these days and I'm always finding gems in the dregs left by others.

Another Random Album Cover. This one came from a thrift store. I put it on the turntable thinking it would be cheesy but it wasn't. Almost any jazz album that Atlantic put out under Ahmet Ertegun is worth listening to.

Another random album cover. This is one of the few records left in the second week of a massive record collection sale. It's an anthology of cumbias from Medellin Columbia in the 1980s, the Pablo Escobar era. 14 danceable canon shots, better translated as 14 big dance hits. Cheerful music.

Found right next to the Willie Nelson album, the Stone's Let it Bleed. Looks like they both came from the same yard sale. Appropriate because the Stones go country in this album and leave behind 60s pop. It's the Stones at the their most stoned for sure.

Willie Nelson in 1967 before cannabis. If anything promotes cannabis, it's this album cover.

Unfortunately, the album inside is warped and scratched like it was played 6000 times at drunken parties. The music is pretty straight forward honky tonk country, not all that different from later Willie.

A baby king snake showed up in my yard this morning, not all that much bigger than an earthworm. A baby with an attitude.

I had a full memory card in my camera, mostly photos of dogs. I've built a nice portfolio of dog photos and I'm an experienced dog photographer at this point. Here are a few.

Crimson moon rising over Taos mountain. It turned more yellow as it rose. I wasn't expecting anything like this last night so I just grabbed a 500mm mirror lens and bumped up the ISO to shoot it hand held. It came out alright.

Rainbow over the Taos Valley. An almost perfect shot but I didn't have a wide enough lens to capture the full double rainbow. Shot at 17mm, f8, 250 shutter speed for those interested in such details. Both exposure and focus were set manually.

The Clash's London Calling. This record turned up rummaging through my stuff. I bought it sometime around 1984. It was in a $2 discount bin at Skaggs drug store. It was a great score at the time and I still enjoy listening to it after all these years.

The weekend's yard sale haul, 4 books for a dollar, all serious scholarly material. I could have bought the whole box for $4 or 5 but I already have enough books that I'm never going to read so I restrained myself to books that actually interested me.

I watched a short news segment on the LA protests and when it went to Trump I quickly shut it off with a "Shut the F up, you lying sack of shit" reaction. It's the same reaction I always have to him, my anti Trump credentials are impeccable because my bullshit detector just as impeccable.

Barrel cactus blooming in my back yard. I caught it right at the beginning of the bloom cycle with the buds just starting to open.

I had some excitement on Sunday morning. Some horses got loose and came to munch the wild grass in my yard.

My dog friend contemplating the view. I'm really pleased with this photo, it's the combination of the dog's expression and the wood grain.

The first rainbow of year in Taos, the valley of rainbows. This one lingered through the late afternoon until it merged with the sunset.

I'm back to citizen journalism. None of this matters to anyone outside my immediate community but if I didn't write about it, nobody would know about it.

The tradition of the neighborhood dogs sleeping off all nighters in my yard continues. The torch has been passed to a new generation.

Easter Bunny 3. And the third photo of this cottontail eating ragweed. This one shows his natural camouflage. If he wasn't behind something green, he'd be hard to see.
