The budget didn't bother the powerful.

No windfall tax on banks. Govt subsidy of £23bn+ continues.

No windfall tax on energy companies, £125bn profit since 2020.

Corporate profiteering and subsidies continue. No curbs on corporate welfare.

85,500 have wealth of £2.8 trillion, hardly touched.
The government’s budget is simply managing decline
The budget does little to improve living standards or facilitate sustained economic growth

I suggest people read this excellent piece in yesterday's Observer.
The process was very chaotic with multiple leaks adding to the confusion
Reeves said she wanted to reduce the cost of living, she did that but by freezing tax thresholds she makes ppl pay more tax.

Wouldn't it have been so much simpler to double the council tax for ppl in bands G and H ?
At the same time announce a review of how the council tax should be updated to take account of 2026 house valuations rather than valuations of 30+ years ago.

What a fantastic video is that!!
Politics is often very dull and off putting
But this video made me really laugh and gave me much more faith of a better future.

That's a very good point. I'd forgotten about dentists.
There are some NHS dentists still left who charge far less than private dentists.

So if we had net migration of 1 million the country would be £70 billion better off?

Yes, Labour are continuing with the privatisation of the NHS. Very bad news.
The profits being made on this will reduce the money left for day to day NHS spending.
But I find it really really hard to imagine that they will start charging for NHS services. Any evidence of this?

Doubt if anyone on a low salary could afford to sacrifice any of their low salary to boost their future pension?
But ppl on say £50-60k much more likely to use it.

Yes, railway fares have increased steeply over recent years.
A freeze is very welcome, a reduction in fares would great.
Meanwhile petrol and diesel have hardly increased at all.
Not an indication of a Government that wants sustainability
