Later on it occurred to me that I'd recently seen an excellent play that I thought Andrew Upton had produced/directed/whatever and I could thank him for that but by then it was too far to go back.
I was walking on the street, there was a bit of public space. Cate Blanchett + Andrew Upton + their kids were using it to play together. I couldn't think of anything useful to say so I kept walking.

I found the wallet of Rodney Overby, announcer for the Sydney Kings basketball team, and arranged to meet him in the pub to return it. I don't follow basketball and had no idea who he was until drinkers in the pub started asking for his autograph. He gave me tickets.

Swedish expats gathered near the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney to be waved at by Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. They cheered, she waved, then her car took her up the road to where I happened to be. She looked unsure if I was Swedish but waved specifically to me just in case.
