Having been told not to get an 8 foot tree again Rosa and I chose the best looking and most perfect 7 foot tree, that then sneakily grew in circumference as we drove it home and took up more space in the living room that the taller one the year before. The place does look a lot better.

All ready for Christmas after the transitional catching up on DIY, sorting out of junk and tidying up. It has all come together pretty well though and the dining room is finally finished.

GDPR and data controller laws will apply to Epic here because we are in the UK. I suspect this will not go well for them if enough people say they want their data removed from their databases. What a mess.

Without opening it up it is hard to tell but if the motor coils have a fault it is very dead unfortunately. If it has a surge protector that has failed it could be fixed though.

Building your own using something like TrueNAS on a Raspberry Pi 5 or similar might be the cheapest option.

I have a second hand Synology that I lightly hacked to stop it complaining about non-approved components. It is currently limited by the mechanical disk speeds on my 10Gb/2.5Gb network, and that is good enough for me. Its processor is woeful though and it cannot transcode.
